[Automobiles] Edmunds Compares the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro

Finally we get a video review of all three upcoming American muscle cars.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=as2erdrkQbI
(I tried uploading the video but apparently this website can't handle it)

Edmunds gives the Camaro 1st place, the Mustang 2nd place, and the challenger 3rd.

I don't know what the ranking was based on, but the only area where the Camaro beats the Mustang is 0-60 in a straight line. The reviewer even says that the Mustang is the more precise of the three. If I was buying a car the most important thing to me would be that I can turn faster, not go straigh faster.

Also the Mustang's interior is of a higher quality, and it has many more options and features.

Here's what I think is the best trait for each three:
Camaro: Very fast in a straight line.
Challenger: Cool retro design that's very close to the original Challenger.

Mustang: Great overall performance and look.

I guess we'll find out what's more important to consumers when the three start battling within a month.

Below is a video review from KellyBlueBook.com to give you a little more info on the 2010 Camaro:

I purposely compared the V8 Mustang to the V6 Camaro because they have almost the same power output. The Camaro even comes standard with an independent rear suspension, putting it in the same league as the Mustang GT.

The Ford Mustang is relatively unchanged over the previous 2009 model. Some new changes include entirely new sheet metal (except for the roof line), 15 additional horsepower, and a finer tuned suspension. This will be the first year that the Camaro will be sold since it was discontinued in 2002. Meaning the Mustang will have plenty of reliability info to fall back on and the Camaro will not...possibly a selling point for some.

From the data, it's evident that the Camaro is a better value. However, that doesn't stop me from wanting a Mustang GT. Perhaps the underlying coolness of the 2010 Mustang is more appealing to me than the 2010 Camaro's "hey look at me!" Or maybe it's the plethora of options available to make your Mustang totally unique...too bad it's all out of my price range.

We'll see what everyone else thinks once these two go head to head later this year.

[Humor] Jon Stewart Dukes It Out With Cramer

Jon Stewart strikes at CNBC for it's reporting during the economic crisis. Stewart picks on Kramer in particular for giving bad predictions on companies like Bear Sterns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch, all of which have tanked.

Stewart's argument is that you can still give accurate and reasonable predictions without sounding all doom and gloom. It takes something called careful research and analysis, which is something I would come to expect from someone working as an anchor for CNBC.

Cramer then discusses Jon Stewart's comments, which spurs a fury of criticism from Joe Scarborough. Cramer even tells Scarborough to lighten up because "he(Stewart) is a comedian." This only makes Scarborough even more upset.

'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' is not an actual news outlet. Anyone who hasn't figured that out by now probably shouldn't be watching TV. The real genius behind 'The Daily Show' is that we can see how absolutely ridiculous and contradicting our media is. Without those who mock sensationalsit media for false reporting we would have no clue as to how bad today's "journalism" has gotten.

So, is Jon Stewart running out of people to pick on, or does Cramer actually deserve the criticism?

[Green] U.N. report: Forestry can create 10 million jobs

(CNN) -- The United Nations is urging countries to invest in green jobs working with "sustainable forest management" to address the growing problem of unemployment worldwide. At least 10 million such jobs could be created, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization will say in a report to be released this week. The report does not mention any countries but is aimed at "mainly regions with substantial rural unemployment and degraded land areas," said C.T.S. Nair, chief economist in the U.N. Forestry Department and one of the authors of the report.

While all countries could benefit from investing in these green jobs, Nair said, Asia and Africa -- and to some extent Latin America -- could benefit the most. India, China and almost all countries in Africa stand to benefit, he added.
The United Nations
said it already is seeing indications that some countries -- such as the United States, India and South Korea -- are interested and taking action to invest in sustainable forest management by making it part of their economic stimulus plans.

Sustainable forestry aims to prevent depletion of forests by managing them and making sure their use does not interfere with natural benefits or the local environment.
For example, in forests where wood is being removed, the United Nations is suggesting that people be hired to monitor and manage how much wood is taken out to ensure the forest does not become depleted and can grow back fully. Managers also would make sure the wood harvest wouldn't affect biodiversity and the water supply. The report will be discussed and analyzed next week at the U.N. Committee on Forestry meeting in Rome, Italy. The Food and Agriculture Organization has designated next week as World Forest Week.
